Valentine’s and New Challenges

This week is Valentine’s Day!!! Please send your child’s valentines to school written out as follows:

To: My Friend

From: Your Child’s Name

We have been working hard on writing our names so please let your child do as much of the writing as possible. We will be having a fun filled day including art, delivering valentines, and a special snack!

 

We have also started a Coat Zipping Challenge!!! Not that it is the third quarter we are challenging the students to zip their own coats. Once they accomplish this task their name goes on the I Can Zip chart and they will receive a lollipop reward. Many students have accomplished the goal and for those who haven’t we are still practicing and I encourage you to practice at home. The challenge will go on until every student’s name is added to the chart and everyone receives a lollipop!!! They really love the lollipops but also love seeing their name on the wall. Happy Zipping!!

And Don’t Forget: CHECK YOUR CHILD’S AGENDA BOOK DAILY AND EMPTY THEIR THURSDAY FOLDER EACH WEEK!!

News and Announcements

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It is time again for a new week in Pre K. There are some schedule announcements for this week. Please read carefully.

 

Tuesday Jan. 31st:

2 Hr. Early Dismissal- AM pre k attends. NO SCHOOL for PM pre k. Please send a lunch box or money for a school lunch. If you wish to pick your child up at the regular dismissal time of 11:45am please let me know so that I can have your child in the front.

Scholastic Book orders are DUE

Pre K report cards will be sent home. Please review your child’s report card, sign and return the yellow envelope.

Winter Weather is Here!!!

In the event of inclement weather delays and closings the following schedule will be in effect for Pre K.

 

1 Hour Delay:

AM pre k will report to school 1 hour late and return home at the normal dismissal time

 

2 Hour Delay:

AM pre k WILL NOT report to school. PM Pre K will begin at the normal time.

 

2 Hour Early Dismissal due to inclement Weather:

AM pre k will remain at school until the 1:50 dismissal time. Parents MAY come and pick their child up at the regular dismissal time of 11:45am. Otherwise, the students will be served a cafeteria lunch.

Weekly Reminders

Dress for the Weather:

Although old man winter is making a slow appearance we do go outside to play whenever we can. Please make sure your children are dressed for cold weather and that ALL their belongings are labeled with their name or initials. We see many hats and gloves and can’t possibly remember which belongs to your child. Thanks!!

 

Homework:

Please assist your child in completing their homework but allow them to do as much as they can independently. Cutting skills are important for them to develop and also following directions. Please return homework folders on Friday of each week.

NO SCHOOL on Monday Jan. 16th!!
